DENTAL CORWNS

Sensitivity

It’s normal to experience some degree of sensitivity for a couple of weeks after getting a dental crown, especially to heat and cold. This sensitivity should gradually decrease as your tooth adjusts to the new crown. If sensitivity persists or worsens, contact your dentist for further evaluation.

Foods to Avoid

While your dental crown is still settling in, avoiding sticky or hard foods that could dislodge or damage the crown is best. This includes chewing gum, hard candies, ice cubes, and tough meats. Opt for softer foods and cut food into smaller, manageable pieces to minimise stress on the crown.

Care for Your Crown

To maintain the longevity of your dental crown, it’s essential to practice good oral hygiene habits. Brush your teeth twice daily with a soft-bristled and fluoride toothpaste, paying extra attention to the area around the crown. Floss daily to remove plaque and food debris from between your teeth and around the crown.

Additionally, schedule regular dental checkups and cleanings to ensure your crown and underlying teeth’s health. If you grind or clench your teeth, consider using a nightguard to protect your crown from excessive wear and tear. If you have any concerns or notice any changes with your dental crown, don’t hesitate to contact your dentist for guidance and assistance.

Vicky Sudlow is not just a dentist; she's a dental artist. Her passion for her craft is evident in every appointment. She takes the time to thoroughly explain each procedure, ensuring I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. Vicky's attention to detail is remarkable, and her commitment to delivering top-notch care is truly unmatched. But the excellence doesn't end with Dr. Sudlow. Kim, her dental nurse, is an absolute gem. Kim's warmth and professionalism put me at ease during every visit. She is a crucial part of the team, assisting seamlessly with procedures and ensuring that each appointment runs smoothly. Her friendly demeanour makes the dental experience surprisingly enjoyable.

Fantastic dental work done to my front tooth. Nicky is a magician of the dentistry world. Won’t recommend work unless you really need it. Been a patient for many many years now and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Only gripe is Denplan fees are astronomical each month.
